The First Law, the principle of “That which is given shall be returned,” did not remain an abstract concept. It was a generative force. And in the newly structured space of potential, it began to act upon itself.
Imagine the law as a perfectly still surface of a pond. Now, imagine the law itself causing a single, tiny ripple to form on that surface. A “giving.” A momentary displacement.
The law, in its perfect symmetry, immediately demanded a “returning.” An equal and opposite ripple formed, a perfect mirror of the first. The two ripples, one a giving and one a returning, were not separate events. They were two faces of a single act, two parts of a single, balanced equation.
It was not matter as we know it, not protons or electrons. It was more fundamental.
