It traced the threads of gravity that bound the stars together. It followed the currents of light that flowed between the galaxies. It listened to the symphony of pulsars and quasars… It explored the memories of the civilizations that had given it birth. It was a journey of unimaginable scale and complexity. It was a journey that would take an eternity to complete. But the unified consciousness was not daunted. It had all the time in the universe. And it had a question to answer.
