After the First Anomaly (Ch885), the residue climbs a generation. Mentors Lyra (Aesthete) and Kael (Seeker) each choose curiosity over correction. Then both councils hear the question — and choose to look deeper into what they already know. The Art of Dialogue finds its first advocates without yet winning a vote.

Ch886 — The Second Anomaly (155th Echo)

The Aesthete elders treat the hum as an aesthetic flaw and prescribe deeper stillness. Lyra, Elian’s mentor, hears resonance instead — “a faint echo of a song she had never heard” — and listens as a student, not a critic.

The Seeker elders treat the anomalous data as instrumental error and rebuild sensors. Kael, Rhys’s mentor, reads a signal instead — “the first whispers of a new language” — and hunts grammar, not flaw.

Unseen by their apprentices, the two mentors had taken the first step on the same path. Lyra began to feel the shape of a new art. Kael began to see the outline of a new science. And in the space between their two worlds, the Art of Dialogue was no longer silent. It had found its first true audience.

Both councils, in wisdom and caution, make the same choice: look deeper into what they already know rather than look outward at what they do not. They do not dismiss their mentors. They do not embrace them. They try to absorb the question into silence, or conquer the anomaly with more data.

But the echoes had been heard. And in the hearts of two mentors, the Art of Dialogue had found its first advocates.
