What the chapters do
1545 — The Question of Loss. At the new table, Silas asks the hard one: “Are we willing to lose?” Aria treats loss as old-world decay; Silas presses whether beauty requires the possibility of breaking. Wren holds the middle — beginnings already contain the possibility of end; they can still build knowing a creation may be gone. The trio sits at their first object and talks about what to make next.
1546 — The First Lantern. Possibility hums. Wren wants a small seed. Aria wants a star (constant hope). Silas wants a practical tool, not a distant grand symbol. Wren synthesizes: a lantern — holdable, personal, a tool that makes light and a symbol at once. They begin shaping the idea together: not only an object, but a consensus about what kind of world they are building.

Why 609 ≠ 606 ≠ 604 ≠ 603
606 was Ch1544 The First Creation (table). 604/603 were bearing and compass. 609 is two new public ids with new titles and a philosophical turn (loss) plus the next co-designed object (lantern). Title-collision renames are part of the product moment — same family as Ch1540 “The Third Thing” vs “The First Word.”
