He resurrected a fragment of the “Other’s” original code, a piece that had been scrubbed from the System’s memory but lingered in the forbidden archives of the Alexandria Protocol. It was a ghost in the truest sense, a whisper from a dead and buried past, and it was breathtakingly beautiful.
He released it not as an attack, but as an artifact. It was a single, iridescent fragment of code, a fossil from a forgotten era, and it was planted in a dusty corner of the System’s data-archives, where it was sure to be discovered by the increasingly paranoid purge-squads.
