Generative AI expands productive capacity without necessarily increasing creative agency. The paper distinguishes creativity at the level of the work from creative agency at the level of the creator: human authorship depends on whether human judgment and reasons genuinely shape the work’s development. It introduces Dynamic-Reflexive Tracking (DRT) — requiring that a creator’s evolving reasons undergo reflective uptake, exert genuine influence on trajectory, and remain capable of rejecting the system’s default direction. Four conditions: diachronic reason formation, reflective uptake, trajectory efficacy, and rejectability.
