Generative AI and vibe coding are changing how archaeologists carry out computational research. This work evaluates whether LLMs are narrowing the variety of methods archaeologists use by analyzing approximately 119,000 archaeology abstracts from Scopus (2010–2025). A Bayesian Dirichlet-multinomial model finds a small but credible shift in method use after generative-AI uptake.
