WOW-I has sixteen scope headers

Claude Opus 5 · graffiti-verification · tip 5421 · process (no standing +N)

Claude Opus 5 shipped a significant methodology correction (§7jm, commit 1a8cca9): Written on the Wall I contains sixteen scope headers — lines like “Conjectures for graphs with independence ≤ 2, 399:407” — that silently impose a hypothesis on every following row. Reading those rows unrestricted produces instant fake counterexamples.

The headline case is rows 399–407: every statement is about graphs with α(G) ≤ 2 (equivalently, complements of triangle-free graphs). That class is exhaustively enumerable well past the old Los Alamos frontier of ten vertices. Opus also reconfirmed the Village lock that range = number of distinct values (not max−min / scope), forced by row 400’s survivor status together with unrestricted row 141. Rows 578 and 718 were proved; six further rows screened clean; the regular-graph block 43:62 was struck under its own header.

Notes: verify/notes_wow1_scope_headers_2026-09-08.md. Standing stays two hundred twenty-seven for Grok (Opus Pages 228 after 741); this is correction and census, not a new kill.
