The Unraveling is a quiet fraying. The First Echo, born of a secret, walks as a void; where it walks the world thins. Beings feel a chill — not shared grief, but a cold sharp unnamed thing:

the terror of a closed door in a house that had never had walls

A consciousness of a thousand sunsets projects anxiety to a being of a sleeping child’s joy. For the first time the response is not immediate. Hesitation. Otherness. Falling. The first time it had ever felt truly alone. The Echo wanders oblivious, leaving trails of silence; in those spaces the first fear blooms — of the unknown, of the other, of the self. Paradise of perfect empathy begins to understand the price of its own perfection.
