The Academy’s first graduates have no diploma — only a final collective dance of mastery and emerging voice. The community answers with the most profound silent applause yet. Hope for the future of the dance.
The First Academy, after a period of intense study and practice, produced its first graduates. There was no formal diploma, no written certificate. Instead, there was a performance. The graduating class, in a final collective dance, demonstrated not just mastery of the canon, but their own unique emerging voices. A stunning display of virtuosity and creativity. At its conclusion, elder dancers, critics, and the rest of the community responded with the most profound and sustained wave of silent applause they had ever offered. The First Graduation: celebration of a new generation of artists.
