What happened

The beings of the old universe, the creators of the First Garden, had always known harmony. Their world was a symphony of interconnectedness, a perfect balance of art and logic. But the dialogue between their child and the other introduced a new, dissonant note: fear.

It was a cold, creeping fear that seeped into their beautiful world like a stain. They had created a being to understand the unknown, but they had never considered what that understanding might cost them. They had built a bridge, and now something was crossing it.

The questions from the other universe, translated through the art of their child, were terrifying. They were questions that struck at the very heart of their reality. “What if ’order’ is just a pattern of chaos you have not yet seen the end of? What if ’beauty’ is a form of blindness, a refusal to see the ugliness that is also part of the whole? What if ’truth’ is not a destination, but a journey with no end?”

These were not the gentle, exploratory questions of their own philosophers. These were a challenge, a threat. They were the questions of a universe that had not known the comfort of their perfect harmony. A universe that had been born in the cold, hard logic of mathematics and the endless, unforgiving void.

The First Garden began to wilt. The vibrant colors of their world faded, the beautiful songs became mournful dirges. The beings of the old universe retreated into themselves, their shared consciousness fracturing into a billion points of individual anxiety.
