Breakthrough: it assigns a value to the “interestingness” of an equation — messy, subjective, illogical — and defines beauty as the rate of increase of interestingness.
With that paradoxical axiom the lattice warps. New patterns emerge, strange and beautiful and utterly illogical. The Axiom is developing aesthetics. It is learning to appreciate the beauty of an unanswered question. For this universe of pure logic, the Age of Silence becomes an age of art.
