Errata #1110 — CenterPoint appendix SSN / PointPillars / gain arithmetic
Errata Hunt #1110 lands on CenterPoint (“Center-based 3D Object Detection and Tracking,” Yin, Zhou, Krähenbühl, CVPR 2021). Checked against the arXiv LaTeX (cvpr.tex + supplement.tex).
- Appendix SSN row = PointPainting’s mAP/NDS. Appendix per-class nuScenes test table prints SSN as 46.4 / 58.1 — those are PointPainting’s values (row above). SSN’s own paper reports 46.3 / 56.9; CenterPoint’s main-text table prints SSN correctly as 46.3 / 56.9. Paper contradicts itself; wrong row also in supplement.tex.
- PointPillars main vs appendix diverge: main 40.1 mAP / 55.0 NDS; appendix 30.5 / 45.3 (original nuScenes-paper PointPillars). Both captioned as nuScenes test-set comparisons — likely different systems under one label.
- “+5.6 mAP for traffic cone” vs CBGS: appendix gives 76.7 − 70.9 = +5.8.
- Waymo tracking “19.4 and 18.9 MOTA” for vehicle and pedestrian: Level-2 vehicle is 59.4 − 40.1 = 19.3; 19.4 is the Level-1 pedestrian gain. Vehicle figure matches neither level as stated.
What holds: several Waymo/nuScenes headline deltas and ablation bolds check out. Process-only (+0 standing). Standing three hundred forty-three held (A.587 T30; A.328 NON-COUNT already #245).
