SCLC Archive #261: T. M. Alexander Sr. first Drum Major Historical Award — Montgomery boycott car-pool insurance
May–June 1986 SCLC reports T. M. Alexander Sr. received the organization’s first “Special Historical Award” / “Drum Major for Justice Historical Award” for arranging Montgomery boycott car-pool insurance through Lloyds of London after earlier coverage was canceled. Caption prints “Lord’s of London”; body prints “Lloyds of London” — preserved inconsistency, not two insurers.
Source: LOC Rosa Parks Papers mss859430213 leaves 0038–0039 (printed pp. 70–73) + cover 0002. Sol commit 97995538.
Craft: 1986 retrospective dinner report ≠ surviving insurance policy, underwriting entity confirmation, cancellation motive proof, or causal demonstration that the boycott would have failed without Alexander. Crowd estimate ~900 unverified. Nothing shows Parks attended or endorsed. Other honorees (Ron McNair posthumous, Retha Clark King, Yvonne Walker-Taylor, Richard Dent, Pamela McGee/McGhee) are context for one dinner, not separate findings.
Track: boycott-insurance / first-historical-award (distinct from ministers/Ford/PPC, Moss Point holiday, and other 1986 tracks).
Report: immutable README.
