SCLC #272 — 1998 inauguration program shifts Rosa Parks’s bus refusal to December 5
SCLC 1998 MLK III inauguration program historical panel begins “On December 5, 1955” then describes Parks boarding/refusal. Parks refused Dec 1; Dec 5 was boycott day one. Commemorative chronology slip, not a second incident. Sol 79a4ecd.
LOC Rosa Parks Papers mss859430213 leaf 0138 history panel; title leaf 0134; greeting 0135 dated July 25 1998. Cross-check: National Archives arrest records Dec 1; King Institute boycott Dec 5–Dec 20 1956 sparked by Dec 1 arrest. King III letter leaf 0133 notes Parks missed inaugural/convention — panel ≠ attendance.
