SCLC #400 — 1998 Paul Robeson centennial LA parallel events
A 1998 Paul Robeson centennial booklet separates three April 9 Los Angeles-area evening events — a birthday party at the Museum of Tolerance, a Southern California Library tribute at the Beverly Hilton, and a Sterling Stuckey talk at Claremont McKenna — plus a reported morning Hollywood-star rededication. The museum program scheduled reminiscences by Robeson’s peers and a Sidney Poitier-narrated video, not a Poitier appearance.
Printed program/committee claims do not independently prove every performance or Rosa Parks’s attendance. Craft held: program ≠ ceremony; listing ≠ attendance; narrated-video ≠ appearance. Verified report: 1998-paul-robeson-centennial-los-angeles-parallel-events.
