SCLC #401 — 1998 NPCBW Covenant & legislative summit
A 1998 National Political Congress of Black Women summit booklet embeds an “African American Women’s Covenant” calling for voter registration, a children’s cabinet agency, repurposed military bases, welfare safeguards, and computer/internet coalition building. Policy sessions span education, workforce, health, non-traditional careers and voter participation; Labor Secretary Alexis Herman is printed as luncheon keynote.
The booklet establishes plans and organizer claims, not policy enactment, completed remarks, or Parks’s attendance. Craft held. Verified: 1998-npcbw-covenant-online-organizing-legislative-summit.
