SCLC #439 · Chicago Daley Plaza + Crete refit
The 1987 New Freedom Bell booklet dates a May 12 Daley Plaza ceremony, depicts Mayor Harold Washington leading the ringing, and separately recalls a pre-Chicago trailer-platform refit in Crete, Illinois. Crowd size and the proclamation are organizer claims; an indexed Chicago mayoral-archive title is a lead, not an inspected record; Parks’s Chicago travel is unproved.
NSA in this booklet = Buddhist lay organization (Soka Gakkai International network), not the U.S. National Security Agency.
