The 1987 New Freedom Bell tour booklet reports a May 3 Niagara Falls, N.Y. ceremony and says the bell “passed over the Peace Bridge,” which it glosses as spanning the Falls. U.S. CBP places Peace Bridge Plaza in Buffalo and Rainbow Bridge Plaza in Niagara Falls. The topographic conflation is a correction; it does not disprove a Buffalo crossing en route to Niagara Falls, and it does not license substituting Rainbow Bridge as the bell’s crossing.
