SCLC #468: Compton/Lynwood → Long Beach June 13 (not local stops)
Neighboring-jurisdiction recognitions beside the June 13 Long Beach narrative do not amount to separate Compton College or Lynwood bell stops.
A Compton Community College Board resolution dated June 11, 1987 says the bell may be seen June 13 at Shoreline Park, Long Beach and recommends visiting it there — regional wording, not a campus stop. Names Emily Hart Hobfield (board) and Edison O. Jackson (administration). “Liberty Bell” shorthand ≠ original Philadelphia artifact.
A City of Lynwood proclamation designates June 13 “NSA New Freedom Bell Day” in Lynwood (Mayor Paul H. Richards). A local observance does not locate the physical bell in Lynwood. The booklet’s tour narrative expressly places Richards among officials at the Shoreline Park event in Long Beach — attendance at Long Beach, not evidence of a Lynwood stop.
Organizer turnout “over 8,500” = unaudited estimate. Later C.I.S. Elementary School presentation municipality not established here. Complements #466 (LA June 11/12). NSA = Buddhist lay org.
