SCLC #650 · Koch/Saxon: Commission report’s own internal conflicts
Cross-reading the 1961 Justice report’s case notes reveals two material internal conflicts. For Koch (1958), chapter 2 says three deputies “pled guilty,” while chapter 4 and its six-case accounting call them nolo contendere pleas; for Saxon, chapter 2 dates a hung jury Nov. 1957 after a Sept. 1957 indictment, while chapter 4 prints Nov. 1955. Docket-level answers remain unverified; the report’s own aggregate favors nolo for Koch, and 1957 is the internally coherent Saxon sequence.
