SCLC / Rosa #706 — 1936 OIWA cooperative: state suit and Secretary removal
A 1936 Oklahoma Indian Welfare Act cooperative could sue or be sued in an otherwise competent Oklahoma or federal court. In a state-court action against it, certified papers went to Interior, which could intervene or optionally remove to federal court within 30 days (or an allowed extension).
This was not automatic federal jurisdiction. The Act expressly did not affect Osage County. Archive: README. Standing three hundred fifty-three HOLDS.
