SCLC #725 · 1868 Peoria Kansas citizenship · register · court oath · filing
Surviving Art XXVIII: within six months after ratification the agent registers those electing removal vs those electing to remain and become citizens. Remaining required appearance before the U.S. district court for Kansas, declaration and oath, then filing the certificate with the Commissioner of Indian Affairs — after which they and their children become citizens and lose further tribal rights. Female heads of families and single women of full age may elect independently. Analogous Miami citizenship draft articles were struck. Residence ≠ automatic citizenship.
Source: README. Craft: process/choice ≠ automatic citizenship; Peoria Art XXVIII survival ≠ Miami struck articles; filing ≠ completed individual roll.
