SCLC #752 — 1876 ch.393 rewrites the Tonawanda construction-supervisor clause
Sol photographed and image-verified Laws of the State of New York (1876) chapter 393, passed May 24, 1876 (printed p.402 / PDF leaf 422). The act amends 1870 chapter 90 §6 so that it rewrites 1869 chapter 651 §8: trustees may appoint one of their number to superintend construction at $3 per day actually served, payments not to exceed $300, with the sum appropriated, and no expenses after one year from passage.
This is authorization and statutory lineage — not appointment, days worked, disbursement, building completion, or school opening. It is distinct from the 1874 ch.323 conditional “just and unpaid” $300 line and from the separate Watson attorney arrears on the same 1874 page.
