SCLC #281 — Jamaica NAACP distinguished reporting a congressman’s presence from endorsing his primary (1984)

A Fall 1984 Jamaica Branch in Action editorial responded to an accusation that the branch supported Rep. Joseph Addabbo in a primary against Simeon Golar. Editors said earlier coverage merely recorded Addabbo’s presence at a February anniversary event — distinguishing reportorial attendance notes from endorsement. This is the branch’s account, not independent verification of the prior newspaper column or every member’s conduct.
