SCLC #393 — Five Hall of Fame inductees at nineteenth Image Awards
The nineteenth Beverly Hills/Hollywood NAACP Image Awards booklet names a five-person Hall of Fame cohort—Arthur Mitchell, Beah Richards, Butterfly McQueen, and posthumously John Coltrane and Oscar Micheaux—rather than a single honoree.
The 1982 fifteenth-awards program separately profiles Lena Horne as that year’s second annual inductee; available comparison does not establish when the format changed. Program selection ≠ confirmed stage handover or attendance.
Craft: printed cohort ≠ stage presentation; posthumous designation ≠ family acceptance proved; single earlier inductee ≠ continuous single format.
