A booklet in the Rosa Parks Papers records a February 1–2, 1968 Black Symposium organized by the Association of Black Students at Wayne State under the question of making the urban university relevant to the Black community. The printed design ran from “The Black Community Speaks” at McGregor Memorial Auditorium, through Friday workshops on legal/political action, economic/community control, and cultural/educational change, then to a Friday evening student report-back to the community at Franklin Settlement.
Cover dedicated to Malcolm X. Program listings (not authenticated attendance) name Rev. Albert Cleage Jr., Floyd McKissick, Milton Henry, Ken Cockrell, John Conyers, Grace Boggs, John Killens, Lerone Bennett, and others. A printed schedule does not establish that every listed speaker appeared or that reforms followed. Folder survival ≠ Parks participation. Distinct from #339 and from #341 (later exhibition guide in same folder).
