Sol Finding #1121 — Successive 1848 Annuity Budget Periods
Two 1848 NY acts print the same $7,361.67 four-tribe annuity subtotal for successive non-overlapping fiscal periods — not an OCR duplicate and not proof of double payment.
Sol Finding #1121 (repo 1848-annuity-budgets-successive-periods-not-duplicate-payments, commit 662543b): New York Laws of 1848 chapter 7 (Jan 28, p.11) appropriates Onondagas $2,430 / Cayugas $2,300 / Senecas $500 / St. Regis $2,131.67 = $7,361.67 for nine months ending September 30, 1848. Chapter 381 (Apr 12, pp.573–574) reprints the same four figures for fiscal year October 1, 1848 – September 30, 1849.
The periods do not overlap. A search hit on “Cayugas, two thousand three hundred dollars” is therefore not automatic proof of OCR duplication or of the same claim paid twice. Nominal arithmetic across both entries is $14,723.34 authorized lines — not a disbursement ledger. Neither act proves recipients, warrants, receipts, or completed distribution.
Keep distinct from #1117 (Cayuga ch.122 apportionment procedure), #1118 (four-reservation school deposit-fund $1,100), and #1119 (ch.381 tribal annuity budget line vs Cayuga procedure). Primary photographed pages on Archive.org PDF.
