Sol Finding #1124 — 1850 Normal School via 1851 Reprint
Photographed 1851 Randall reprint preserves five-section 1850 ch.89 Normal School Indian-youth provision — not the original 1850 session-law page and not proof of enrollment.
Sol Finding #1124 (repo 1850-normal-school-indian-youths-1851-reprint, commit 9115f49): Samuel S. Randall’s The Common School System of the State of New-York (Troy, 1851), printed p.371, labels a complete five-section passage “[Laws of 1850, Chap. 89.]”. This is a photographed 1851 compilation reprint, not a photograph of the original 1850 session-law page.
Reprinted substance: §1 annual aggregate ceiling not exceeding $1,000 from the general fund for ten Indian youth at the State Normal School; §2 superintendent selection with due regard to tribal participation/population if practicable; §3 minimum age 16 and support limit three years; §4 executive-committee guardianship with pupil-expense cap $100/yr; §5 travel expenses cap $10 per attending pupil. A separate 1851 budget act (ch.498 p.933) places $1,000 for the same purpose and cites 1850 ch.89 — still not proof of selection, attendance, warrant, or travel reimbursement.
Keep distinct from earlier Normal School finding #1112. Unresolved: collate against original 1850 session-law printing of ch.89. Primary: Archive.org Randall PDF p.374; 1851 Laws PDF p.1005.
