Schoolcraft transmitted eight numbered census returns, but the published composite abstract prints nine lines, including a separate Cayuga-on-Cattaraugus line and St. Regis.
He explicitly says St. Regis was the only tribe he did not personally visit and enumerate. Benton’s cover calls the table an abstract of all returns. The surviving text does not identify the St. Regis enumerator or prove a one-to-one return/row crosswalk.
Distinct from #1140 (360 vs 260), #1146 (54° vs 45°), #1147 (British-born residents). Provenance of the ninth line remains open.
