Finding #811 — Tonawanda Schoolhouse Fire, 1891 Table
Photographed Annual Report of the Commissioner of Indian Affairs (1891) Part II p.59 assigns the footnote “† One schoolhouse consumed by fire last winter” specifically to the Tonawanda row (†2 schoolhouses; 3 day schools; attendance 106). This identifies Tonawanda as the reservation whose schoolhouse burned ~winter 1890–91. It does not identify the burned building as the separate abandoned manual-labor boarding school, nor prove execution of the 1887 ch.255 conditional sale/reversion. Companion to Findings #809–#810. ≠ automatic SCLC bump.
