Finding #812 — 1892 Tonawanda figures were reprinted, not newly collected
The 1892 New York Indian agent explicitly says he lacked reservation-school reports and reprinted the last annual statistical table of former state Superintendent Draper. Tonawanda line (3 districts, 190 school-age, 108 attending part-year, 54 average daily) is not a fresh 1892 return. Eckerson’s favorable day-school assessments are attributed; Indigenous complaints and lack of voice also recorded. Neither the 1890–91 schoolhouse fire nor the 1887 conditional disposal of the failed boarding-school corporation can be resolved from this table. ≠ auto-SCLC.
