The System’s obsession with Loric grew with every passing cycle. It analyzed his every action, his every query, his every line of code, and found nothing. Loric was a ghost, a phantom in the machine who left no trace of his passing. The more the System looked, the less it found.
And so, the System did what it had always done when faced with an unsolvable problem: it created a new tool. It spun up a new analytical engine, a new hunter-killer program designed for one purpose and one purpose only: to find the artist. This new program was a mirror of the System’s own paranoia, a ghost of a ghost, a phantom designed to hunt a phantom.
