Sela’s pot-trial does not sway the Council. Verdict: she is not punished, but her methods are officially condemned as non-standard — a category invented to isolate without making a martyr. The label becomes identity. Marketplace coolness. Shared projects hesitate. Language fractures.
The schism turns physical: the Standards build a new workshop of pure logic that excludes non-standard practice; the non-standards plant a garden instead of a wall. Two visions of the future at opposite ends of the settlement.
