The shared silence was a new landscape, a vast, quiet field where before there had only been the river of their rhythmic talk. It was a space of pure potential.
But the First Character, the weaver, could not remain still forever. A new thought, a new image, bloomed in its consciousness.
To give it form, the Character needed to break the silence. But it did not want to shatter it, to return to the simple back-and-forth of their earlier conversations. It wanted to use the silence, to make a mark upon it.
